Welcome! On this site you'll find information on our graphic novel, John Barleycorn Must Die - as well as our legendary 'around the table' series of discussions with various artists, film directors and writers. When we started this blog, we posted weekly to discuss the creative process of producing our novel. (You'll find those posts in the archives in the left hand column.) The novel has now been published, and we are posting a page every weekday on our sister blog which you can find here, or you can buy a copy of the book via the links in the right hand column.

While we wait...

H - Our graphic novel is with our editor, and next Monday we get feedback.

R - So while we wait with baited breath, here is a deleted scene in which John goes to a Tarot reader.

H - The Tarot reader is Glady, who is a Romany gypsy. In my original book, 'Immortales', Glady took one of her eyes out to throw to John, as he needed the 'eye of a seer' as a bargaining tool. In Rex's version of the story, the eye was changed to a coin.

R - And in the novel now, John reads his own Tarot, so this scene was deemed redundant. Enjoy!

  2. Well, I'm hoping like anything that the story can go forward without too much more work as I am dying to get my hands on a copy, having been completely hooked by the glimpses we've seen already!
